The Siskin project consisted of creating a storage facility for a steel fabrication company in Louisville.

The scope of work included clearing, mass earth moving, storm sewer, water quality and storage areas, cement stabilization and stone placement. This project was within MSD’s oversight jurisdiction.

In this Industrial project, we faced several significant challenges that drove our team to work efficiently and accurately to achieve the following objectives:

Some unique challenges on this project included an extensive design phase which emphasized value engineering. EW worked closely with the CM to adjust the design to better fit the owner’s budget while still delivering a high quality and effective product. An additional challenge was the poor quality of the existing soils; a unique application of cement stabilization and road section design was executed to ensure adequate support for heavy lift machines while keeping the cost within the project budget.
